"BOAT AMERICA"
Boating Safety Classes
Boat America - NJ State Boating Safety Course Boat America is a concise course lasting eight hours, as mandated by the State of New Jersey. It stresses safe boating practices and boating rules with a lesser emphasis on seamanship and piloting. Topics include boating law, boating safety equipment, navigation, and safe boating tips. Many boat insurance companies will offer discounts to boaters who successfully complete the ABS course. . Where there is need for a greater knowledge of seamanship, the more inclusive Boating Skills and Seamanship course is better. The cost of the Boat America course is $60 per person. A concise course text is provided. Successful completion leads to State certification. The registration fee covers all expenses, including NJ State registration. Course Location Courses will be held at Saint Peter's United Methodist Church (unless otherwise noted). Enter the building in the middle of the block between 7th and 8th Streets on Central Ave. Pre-registration is required and there is an on-line registration and payment process this year (see Table below).
